Dead Generation?

It has been a while since my last preaching blog, so I am going to dust off my soap box.....have a seat :)

One of my pet peeves is people praying "if it be Your will" and also when someone asks for prayer and they are given a "feel good" prayer. I believe in the POWER that God has given us. I also believe that we do not use or rely on that enough. With that said:

While pregnant with Joelle, we were told she had clubfoot to the point that her feet were backwards. The idea or plan was to remove her feet and reconnect them right. She would have been in full hip to toe casts until 3 years old, and then half casts, and then connected shoes (like Forrest Gump), and even then she would have to learn to walk after ALL of that. We have sono pictures to show for it. I firmly believe that had we sat back, and said "if it be Your will", she would be a completely different child. We had to get in line with what God told us. The Bible says that we as parents have authority over our children....and this includes in the womb. I know you have all heard Joelle's story, but all this to say- Our amazing God gave us, wee little us, the power to change lives!

Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. Matthew 10:1-3

Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. John 14:11-13

We are called to be His disciples. We are called to do His works. Even GREATER things.... GREATER THINGS!!!!!!

I am very tired of seeing people sit around and not move with God. Prayer is so very powerful, and changes things...fear kills things and is from the devil. Most times, churches don't teach on this for fear of offending or failing. A prayer that does not "fix" something is NOT failure or lack of God's mighty hand or love. As a parent, when your child tries with all of their heart and believes in themselves, we are so proud. We cheer for them and tell them how proud we are. As much as parents love their children, God loves US...YOU...a million times more. Having faith in God, our healer, brings God so much joy. He is more than a proud parent when we pray over people and stand in faith for healing or change.

I think it is time to erase the idea of a "dead generation" and make way for God to move. There is more and more cancer, sickness, hurt, pain, broken people, divorce, hate, and lack in this world. Churches need to wake up, and smell the coffee. We need to pray for each other, and work together, because we can do mighty things.

It is time to stop sitting back and praying "if it be Your will" and start DOING God's will. It's in black and white people.

Ok, I'm off my preaching soap box for today..........................

Preach it, Sister! We need to pray and God WILL answer--He PROMISES!!!! We may not always like his answer, but answer He will! And He can certainly HEAL!!!! I'm so thankful that you are testament to that!
